here is one of my favorite pictures that i took in New Orleans. strays have way overpopulated the city since hurricane katrina, according to our house client walter. this especially friendly one was such a sweetheart and i wish i could have brought it back with me. the society of New Orleans has suffered so much from its depleted environment, even though the disaster happened such a long time ago. it is almost incredible to imagine how powerful that destruction could have been to the neighborhoods for the area to not yet fully establish itself. i’ve watched the videos and news reports, but it seems that to understand the destruction process, i would have had to be there to witness it in person. something strong must be holding back the completed success.. is it money? time? how much more longer will it take for New Orleans to arrive back at its original stage? i am definitely proud of how far the process has led to the structure the city is today though. hopefully, the economy is on the same successful level as New Orleans. in any case, i would most definitely love to go back to New Orleans and help on my own account. maybe my work towards a landscape degree can push to the success of the N’awlins! :D
